This place has the widest selection of beers I've ever seen in a pub. The landlord was extremely helpful and friendly, we really enjoyed chatting with him. Although it was our first visit we were welcomed as if we were regulars. The only drawback for us....... We live so far away! Highly recommend a visit here. Thanks

An Untappd Verified Venue means you can do your research beforehand as there’s so many options to choose from. The Landlord is a delight to talk to and has created a beer drinkers dream here particularly if you like sport as well. The cask ale I had was the best of the day, there’s also a great selection of cans for sale if you want any train beers if you’re travelling home.

Scholars Bar is a traditional pub with a good selection of beers, lager and cider including nine hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. The cask ales we tried were in excellent condition. There are no bar games, but the pub has tv screens for watching Sport. The staff are welcoming and the pub is dog friendly. The pub has won the Camra award for Best Pub in Scarborough for the last two years. It is a great pub worth visiting.
